20 yr old Sentenced for String of Violent Crimes
A Month of Crime
Rosario-Sánchez admitted in court that on
January 4, 2018, he robbed Pizzería de Fernan in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, and wounded an employee and a customer.
- On January 11, 2018, during the robbery of the food business El Invader on Highway #1 in San Juan, PR, he shot and killed an employee.
- On January 13, 2018 carjacking of an all-terrain motorcycle at a Puma station in Santurce where he shot the driver, who died from the injuries.
- On January 14, 2018, robbery of a food business in Cidra, PR, during which several employees were shot and where one employee died. On that same day, the defendant and others carjacked a vehicle and shot the driver, who also died from the gunshot wounds. Rosario-Sánchez was a minor when he committed these crimes, and he was aided and abetted by others.
He was prosecuted as an adult and he was sentenced in court to 40 years in prison. The defendant will be eligible for parole in 2028.
Long Criminal History
The defendant had a long criminal court history before the events.
- In 2003, he was convicted of two counts of armed robbery and two counts of carjacking and sentenced to 10 years in prison for those crimes.
- In 2008, he was released from prison on parole. Less than a year later, he committed the crimes of the four murders, two robberies, and two carjackings.
